After the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) academic teachers can develop themselves further by obtaining a Senior Teaching Qualification (Senior Kwalificatie Onderwijs, SKO). Having a senior position means that, in addition to teaching responsibilities, one has a leading role in the development of the education provided.
In order to obtain the senior teaching qualification, lecturers will have to have obtained the basic teaching qualification first. In addition to this, they will have to submit their teaching curriculum vitae to the assessment committee. The teaching curriculum vitae shall contain, amongst other things, a description of the various relevant teaching activities and products, a self-assessment, and student evaluations.
Each individual faculty has its own interpretation of the basic and senior teaching qualifications. This information can be obtained at the relevant Faculty.
