There are a number of practical issues that need to be sorted well in advance to the actual dates that the course is being taught to ensure the smooth progression of all processes. These include having a Solis-ID, access to Blackboard, scheduling educational rooms, and booking teaching equipment.
A Solis-ID is needed to provide access to Osiris and Blackboard. If you work at the Faculty of Science or Veterinary Sciences, you automatically receive a Solis-ID and password when you are appointed at the university. If you work at UMCU, you can arrange a Solis-ID for teachers.

Depending on the faculty where the course will be taught you can contact:
- UMCU - Get a Solis-ID for teachers of the UMC Utrecht via this website. Ask the Blackboard coordinator (Sape van der Werf) to give you designer-rights for your course.
- Science Faculty - send an email to Science.Blackboard@uu.nl.
- If you work at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and want to use Blackboard, please contact email@example.com or the Education Office of your Faculty.
A teaching room has to be requested in due time, sometimes up to 10 months in advance. Scheduling is done per educational period, meaning that if your course extends over multiple periods, there can also be multiple deadlines for requesting rooms.
The process and contact persons depend on the organizing faculty and the Master’s programme (Biomedical Sciences or Biosciences). For general questions you can contact the policy team at CourseInformationGSLS@umcutrecht.nl. They can always point you in the right direction.

The contact person for Biomedical Sciences is Anita de Vroedt.
The course coordinator can apply for teaching rooms by e-mailing Anita de Vroedt with the requested schedule. This page includes all information on scheduling, including information on the deadlines per period. To have an efficient schedule procedure, and be assured of rooms being available, it is important to meet the deadlines. There are also timeslots used for booking a room, the timeslot model can be found here. In case you would like your schedule to appear in Mytimetable, please notify Anita de Vroedt of this. The GSLS policy officers will send a reminder when the deadline for applications are known or are approaching.
Utrecht University (Biosciences courses)
The contact person for Biosciences is Hans Luijendijk.
Hans will send out an e-mail when the deadlines for providing schedules are known. Moreover, in a shared excel-file you can see which data you have to check for your course. Based on this file and the information you provided, your course will be updated in Osiris and rooms will be reserved. An instruction will be sent each year around April-May to all course coordinators of the Biosciences courses at that moment. Please let Hans know when you did not receive this instruction or if you have any other questions.
